My choice of Barkley was not what I wanted..but as he said..if you're TRYING to fall in love with a QB..then..it's not going to work. They fell in love with Barkley..easily and you saw the tape from a Giant scout at the combine.
Frankly...I love the QB pick...good football stock and the scouting report. Saw tape..and he can zip it in there..and moves fluidly to the opening lane.
Arm strength..was the concern...ok people...he's just out of college...Get over it. At least it's not JR..spending a pick to move up on one. Pat sure had something to say about this...HIS experience on a rookie will speed his development.
I'd give the picks...B+ grade
As Hernandez is the GEM I want to see him play

Interesting that Gettleman took 2 DLs and neither was Maurice Hurst. From what I've heard, Hurst's medicals are similar to Star Lotulelei who Gettleman selected with his first round pick a few years ago.
I don’t no much about him. I suspect he will play as a DE on the line rotation with Tomlinson and Hill. Usually 3-4 DE are bigger DE small DT guys. Instead of a 4-3 end 6-3 260 there 6’3” 290. NT are like snacks
I think Carter might be the steel for us. This kid will be good. Perfect for a 3-4 OLB. He uses his hands well too
He was great against Notre Dame. Quick first step and more athletic than many opponents. Against a better athlete neutralized him in college though. Very quiet after the Notre Dame game as were many Hurricanes on defense.
“It’s about winning and I’ve seen someone told one of the reporters I’m in the teardown,’’ Gettleman said recently. “We’re not spending $62.5 million on Nate Solder, spending the money on [28-year-old guard] Patrick Omameh, we’re not trading for Alec Ogletree. If it’s a teardown, we’re not doing that. We evaluated the roster, we’ve developed a plan moving forward. It’s about winning now. Who wants to lose? I don’t.’’ - Big Dave
Listened to Gettleman talk about day 3 picks. He actually said he wants his weight up and was actually playing closer to 300 pounds before he lost some weight. I personally think he is best at 280. Get ride of done baby fat and add some real weight at 3-4 DE

I watched a few highlight reels on McIntosh. To me he seams like a much more exciting player than BJ Hill. He's very disruptive where as Hill seams more like a run stopper. One thing is clear, we've been stocking up on defensive lineman. I'm still trying to sort out in my head where each player will fit in the new scheme. We've been a 4-3 for as long as I even knew the difference. Its a big transition and I'm sure it will have many different looks. Some guys we classified as DE's become OLB's, some stay as DE's. We seem to have a lot of guys that are 4-3 DT's, I think they all become DE's (atleast on 1st and 2nd down). The only two guys in our system that fit the bill as true NT's are Snacks and Robert Thomas. I'm sure it will all make sense soon enough after watching a few games. At least we have depth and variety. I predict a strong run D from these guys, if we get pass rush from this crew its a bonus.
freide: As buts go I would put flowers in the Ron Dayne's class.

uther99: The Oline is just too bad to compete. If you max protect, how many WRs go out, 2? That's 2 WRs against 7 defenders, good luck.

GordonG: Homer, I hope you get good news this week. Like Troy, I also beat cancer. I was fortunate that it was caught very early. So early that it could have easily been diagnosed as benign.
