'86 was wonderful (for Met's fans) in retrospect. If not for a very fluke gift from Bill Buckner, the Met's would have done what they do best... broken the hearts of their fans with yet another choke.
Okay, enough negative Nelly. The "Miracles" pulled that one out of the fire and everyone lauds that magical season; I see that. The Met's still had to win Game #7 and they did that in come-from-behind fashion; I see that. The Met's didn't squander what may have been the most potent lineup from top-to-bottom in their history; I see that. I'm a Met's fan and I have earned the right to find the dark cloud in the royal blue sky...
BigBlue... Not that you need it, but here's some more fodder for your next Mets rant. Jacob deGrom and his 0.87 ERA. This guy has given-up 6 earned runs in 63 innings. Over that stretch the Mets won 2 of those games. An impossible feat for any other MLB team, however when you're dead last in runs-per-game (3.24); batting average (.221); OBP (.290); slugging (.356) and total bases (542), it makes the focus on ineptitude a lot sharper.
According to the WSJ, deGrom's feat is ALMOST 'unprecedented'. No team since 1913 has under 4 wins when their pitcher has under 1.00 ERA over 10 games. With all the talk about trading deGrom to build the franchise for the future, I don't hold any hope for that brand of salvation. The Mets have proven they can mess-up a sure thing. If deGrom is traded, this will be more of a humanitarian gesture than a fix for the mess the Wilpon's have created. Amazin'...

Its really DISGUSTING!!! I posted my second met rant on my other post not sure if you saw it. But yes those numbers are ridiculous. The Mets never cease to amaze me. This is literally the worst offense I have ever seen in my entire life!
Secretariat. Greatest horse ever For love of the game. Loved it. Perfect game lastvgane pitching Greatest game ever played. It’s golf but what a underdog and a true story The replacements. Kind of cheasy but funny. True team concept Touchback like the do over football version Maverick with Mel Gibson love the humor

uther99: The Oline is just too bad to compete. If you max protect, how many WRs go out, 2? That's 2 WRs against 7 defenders, good luck.
