Besides reaching for Jones a little and Connelly they did a good job. Definitely got better vs the run and our secondary should be much much better. Baker and Love along with Beal gives them 3 young CBS with huge upside. I’m shocked he didn’t get a RT in this draft. Still have 2 picks in round 7 but no one out there I can see that will stick on the 53
The median percentage of games started for players drafted in rounds 4 through 7 was extremely low, never rising above 7% of games played over the last 5 years.
That's what I know.
Then why bother even paying attention to the draft today? Or furthermore providing your $.02 and making up a statistic. I'd love to see the source.
Why do the Giants even bother even making day 3 picks?
Ever hear of Harry Carson? - He was a 4th rounder Ever hear of Antonio Pierce? UDFA Ever hear of Gary Reasons? - 4th Rounder Ever hear of Jesse Armstead? - 8th Round Ever hear of Brian Kelley? 14th round
Terrill Hanks, TJ Edwards and Mack Wilson have 3rd round grades
PFF's Top rated Off-Ball Linebackers: 1. Devon White 2. Devon Bush 3.Tevon Coney 4. Blake Cashman
Obviously you failed reading comprehension.
Read it again. The statistics are from Forbes as in Forbes magazine.
I know there's no pictures. But stats dont lie.
This guy is small slow. Leads with head. Can't shuffle. but has heart. Probably not an all pro.
I’m a Giants fan living in Madison and have watched Connelly play for 4 years. He is a former walk on that has great instincts and plays fast, which make up for average measurables. The guy just makes plays and is very smart. He was banged up last year but played hurt and was still productive. I think he will contribute on special teams next year and am hopeful he will eventually get significant playing time.
But he doesn't have average measurables. His times in the 10 yd. Split were as good as any linebackers in 10 years that weigh 240 lb or more His time in the 40 was 4.6. Again extremely good for 240 lb. He's tough, he played all year with an injury that most people wouldn't have played with. He supposedly has great instincts and great fluidity.
This pick matches the D plan. Big guys up front to keep the OL off the LBs and a gap shooter like him to make the tackles.
They don't care about a LB who can cover? I'm not being sarcastic, just wondering why they do not value coverage in their LBs in today's NFL? the NYG have been getting torched in the middle for years, no?
Teams always talk about getting one on one matchups with LBs, right? Should we not try to counter that thinking/logic? Having speedy LBs that can run sideline to sideline cover can gives teams fits, especially in a mostly 3 4 scheme , no? .... Sounds like this guy fits what betcher wants a shoot gap, blitz heavy scheme, but.... still? What am I missing?

rodney27: You're right about the fumbling problem, tl65taog. I just don't think it can be fixed. He had in preseason, has it at a record pace now, and had the same problem at Duke. If he hasn't fixed it in all that time...I just don't know if he can.
