IMO, to draft Chase Young, you will need the third pick of the draft. I'm assuming the Bengals and Dolphins pick first and second and both take QBs, leaving Chase Young for the team with the third pick. The Giants have a real shot at finishing with the third worse record. Not only did the Giants lose today, giving the Jets a win, but the Bucs won, the Browns won, and the Falcons won, clearing the way for the Giants to finish with the third worse record (hopefully).
The other big development occurred last week when the Broncos won their third game of the season. We need the Falcons, who now have two wins, to win a few more games. Maybe the Falcons will get hot and win a few now that M.Ryan has returned.
We need to watch the Redksins, we need the Giants to lose to the Redskins next time and we need the Redskins to win a few games. If the Redskins finish with the the third pick, there is a good chance they end up with Chase Young.
With D.Jones at QB and C.Young at DE, the Giants would have a championship caliber foundation. Just look at Giants championship teams in the past: Simms and Taylor, Manning and Strahan, Manning and Tuck.
At the time of this writing, the Dolphins are winning 3 to 0 over the Colts. I don't expect the Dolphins to win the game, but it would be great to see the Dolphins get hot and win a few games and drop below the Giants in the draft ordering. In that scenario, the Redskins might be the other team that, along with the Bengals, takes a QB, once again leaving Chase Young to the team with the third pick.

Young is more accustomed to the 4-3, but he can probably handle the 3-4 rush OLB, the only difference is that the 3-4 rush OLB doesn't put his hand in the dirt. LT rushed the QB 90% of the time as a 3-4 rush OLB and Young would rush the QB maybe 95% of the time.
Moreover, I'm pretty convinced that James Beltcher, the def coordinator, is gone after this season. This defense gives up too many big plays and that speaks to poor fundamentals, poor coaching, and poor scheme. Beltcher sucks and I can't fathom the Giants bringing him back next season.

"With D.Jones at QB and C.Young at DE, the Giants would have a championship caliber foundation. Just look at Giants championship teams in the past: Simms and Taylor, Manning and Strahan, Manning and Tuck."
Note: Strahan was a second round pick and Tuck was a third round pick. That IMO is more telling about championship teams than the successful 1st round picks. Oh, BTW Harry Carson was a 4th round pick.
Holy cow, Miami is up 10-0. Can they actually beat the Colts? That would be awesome.
The other thing about the Redskins, and especially if we can get the Dolphins to win a few games, the Redskins are not sold on D.Haskins. If they have a shot at Tua or Herbert, they would be insane to pass on the QB for Young. The bad news: the Redskins are often insane. LOL.
One problem. He’s a 4-3 DE. Giants run a 3-4 defense.
The Giants aren't a 3-4 Defense.
They're a Nickel defense.
What I've been seeing lately is 2 DT's with two "OLB's" with their hand on the ground. That's closer to a 4-3 than a 3-4. Only difference is that our two edge rushers aren't strong like real DE's. We've got the worst of both worlds.

rodney27: You're right about the fumbling problem, tl65taog. I just don't think it can be fixed. He had in preseason, has it at a record pace now, and had the same problem at Duke. If he hasn't fixed it in all that time...I just don't know if he can.
