Well only one player on the Giants had 4 QB pressures and that was LW the ' man we didn't need '
Let this sink in--> Dexter Lawrence had two tackles 0 sacks 0 assists and 0 QB pressures 0 TFL-!
Yes he played every snap/ I have been a bit put off by the fake ratings.. yea now we have fake ratings to go with the fake you know what.. not that I believe in that I grew up reading The Weekly World News which was always about space aliens-- this year the folks over at PFF last two " f's" for Fake Fake.. they have been raving about Lawrence and then i get all excited get my popcorn and watch this kid do nothing. I'm sick in it. A guy that nimble and quick for that size should be tearing up the league and he's not. He's getting washed out of plays and generally stagnated along the line when he sometimes jumps and always misses the ball. Dexter may be the worst at batting down a ball that I have ever seen.
Dear Dave Gettleman -
We would love some clarity on why Dexter Lawrence doesn't get any tackles or sacks or tackles for loss.
One more thing. I hope this is all a lesson to Dave about certain things-- one is it's almost 100% of the time the biggest most chiseled athlete is not the toughest-- I'm not calling Saquan a workout warrior because he's not but two well respected people now have questioned his toughness. The first was Carl Banks who on the radio made a big poin about slowing down and saying this slowly " It takes a certain kind of courage to pick up the blitz "
To be honest I just forgot the second guy... but another football guy really questioned the toughness of Saquan.
I take you back to now to the start off the season when noticing Barkley's rather forced attempt to be Mr Team Leader Mr Fun guy Mr I keep Practices alive by jumping up into other people a lot... (more on that later) I was writing about no matter what happens this season we can't squeeze the life out of this player we cannot turn Mr Nice guy into a negative nelly...
But here wee are talking about toughness. ) ) )
Barkley had one yard rushing against the Jets and later talked about how great the Jets defense is agains the run. Obviously Jamal Adams trucked him big time and that's just a dude playing angry playing at another level and another speed than Barkley. Adams was by far the best player on the field yesterday.
Saquan did get an X ray but why was it of his chest area ) ) )
Let me tell the team what the fans really do not want to hear-- We'll check the film.
**The Giants have now moved up to third in the projected 2020 NFL draft. The Bengals seem assured of the top pick but we have the ability top lose to Washington in the rematch! --> So we could be Pick 2!!! Probably we'll end up around 4 or 5 which is still very high. Clemson linebacker Isaiah Simmons is the Top Target****
When Nate Soldier left the field former Jet Eric Smith came in and he did get beat a few times for sure once really bad but I think he tried really hard. And really in the long run was not much worse than Soldier. Furthermore I heard him interviewed and it was mailed spark of life to a dead team he spoke of the excitement of being validated pf being told when he went to the sidelines hang in there you're doing fine. How was he to know Shumur gives him zero reps at practice at all in any form with any scout team. Smith he told NorthJersey.com and USA TODAY Network Northeast he took zero reps at LT this week; all his practice work came as the jumbo TE, and not LT, a position he last played with ... the Jets.
So some fine points then on the coaching., Bad at Pat for giving this guy zero reps at LT but ALSO BAD ON PAT for not utilizing him as a jumbo Tight end!!! --> There was a question asked of Shurmur at the press conference after the game why did you not help out the tackle with a TE...oh we did a coupon plays before and they ran a twist stunt... so Shurmur got out coached one stunt and gave up on utilizing tight end for blocking. One the radio broadcast they were screaming all game No Help Why Has Shurmnur not provided TE blocking help! Then at the Presser suddenly he did a couple plays before but they ran that twist stunt...
These coaches think they can use a inside work like " twist " and the journalist will be cowed by their brilliance and shut up. That's pretty much what happened.
QUESTIONS FOR DAVE-- DAVE'S MAILBAG-- SOUCHET' DE' DAVE
Q-Was The Trade Up For DeAndre Baker worth it-?
Q-Could you have waited on Danielle Jones and drafted him later-?
Q-Do you feel Dexter Lawrence has reached his full potential in the NFL-? What is keeping him attached to the line of scrimmage?
Q- Peppers yea or nay?
Q- Where is Jonathan Stewart-? So confused by that signing you gave $2.95 million guaranteed for a laughable six carries and 17 yards (2.83 YPC). And then the dud retired!!! He was done with football and you just handed him $3 mil!!! Of someone else money...
Q- Can you explain this-?
“You turn around and look at what happened last year,” Gettleman said. “Once we got that O-line fixed, better – we’re going to continue working on that - look what we did in the second half of the year on offense. This narrative that Eli is overpaid and can’t play is a crock. So at the end of the day, you have to say Gettleman is out of his mind, or he knows what he’s talking about when he evaluates players. That’s really what it is. … If you disagree with me, that’s fine.
And the dolphins are intentionally tanking, trading their best players for picks. But they have a coach who seems to have them playing hard and he also seems to have a clue.
But he may not have a job if he keeps winning.
"The thing that makes him (Saquon Barkley) different is he has the feet and speed of a little guy, with the power and strength of a big guy," Gettleman said. "That’s what makes him so darn unique. He’s different. It’s like he was touched by the hand of God, frankly."

rodney27: You're right about the fumbling problem, tl65taog. I just don't think it can be fixed. He had in preseason, has it at a record pace now, and had the same problem at Duke. If he hasn't fixed it in all that time...I just don't know if he can.
