are getting hot as reported by several sources and Stafford's wife tweeting about...."IF traded she hopes it's to California."
Hardly conclusive, still it has some logic - unless Detroit thinks they can win now with one good draft. If so, then you stick with the 32-year old quarterback who's been toiling away for some 11 years. But if not, and I think that's most likely, then you do a rebuild and you use the spot to grab a quarterback. I don't know if it changes the Giants trajectory, seems to me Detroit was going to trade out anyway and a quarterback would have gone at number three regardless. But If so, Does it put more pressure on the Redskins to trade down? Does it give us more leverage,? I could just as easily see three quarterbacks and 3 trade downs going befor us as none. And that's because Burrow is rumored to be balking at goimg to Cinncy. However, there suddenly might not be a quality guy at Miami's slot so maybe they draft Herbert at one....this is that fluid and unpredictable. I have a feeling that we're so desperate for answers that we're like detectives sorting through trash cans looking for Clues....".hmmm , wait a minute, don't throw that piece of moldy cheese away, maybe it's got an encryption on it!". No matter how it turns out The Nihilists are going to have a field day telling us what Gettleman should have done. The only draft I ever second-guessed was watching tunsil, the perfect pick, slide to us, and then, inconceivably, by us, as we embraced and welcomed Eli Apple to the bigger Apple. That remiains to this day as toxic, unaccountable, defining and damaging as it appeared then.

Stafford to the Chargers makes some sense. The Lions could then be interested in a rookie QB, and somebody gets pushed down to us. Okudah or possibly even Young. I think it's possible the Skins go for Simmons instead of young. Their pass rush is pretty good, and they are Washington after all and making an unexpected pick isn't out of the question.

Grizz The Monger!
Remember UNLV Loses to Duke
In 1991, UNLV was trying to defend its title from the year before. A repeat seemed inevitable—the Runnin' Rebels were undefeated that year, after all—when they faced off against Duke in the title game, a team they had easily handled the year before.
But they lost, sparking rumors that the fix was in.
It didn't help that three of UNLV's players were photographed in a hot tub with Richie "The Fixer" Perry, whose nickname should give you a pretty good idea of his reputation.
Remember Jimmy Hoffa Buried Under Giants Stadium
Was former Teamsters boss Jimmy Hoffa buried under an end zone at the old Giants Stadium?
Here are some of the details surrounding his death:
As [Donald] Frankos described it, mob leaders tried to dissuade Hoffa from retaking control of the Teamsters after his release from prison on a jury tampering rap. But Hoffa refused, and allegedly threatened to tell authorities about mob infiltration of the unions.
Hoffa was last seen in a restaurant parking lot outside Detroit on July 30, 1975. Frankos claimed Hoffa was killed in Michigan by members of the Westies, a New York Irish gang, on the orders of Genovese crime family boss Anthony "Fat Tony" Salerno.
His body was cut up in Michigan, then driven to New Jersey several months later and buried in the concrete foundation of the sprouting Giants Stadium, Frankos said. He even claimed to know what area of the stadium: Section 107, in the corner of the west end zone.
The FBI denied the viability of Frankos' story, but the tale lives on.

While Favre was busy afterward insisting that he had switched his call from run to bootleg at the line of scrimmage, not a single member of his offensive line was supporting the notion. That included tight end Bubba Franks, the person nominally responsible for blocking Strahan on the play.
"That was called as a running play," said Franks, who dutifully went into run-block mode, only to see Strahan blast past him in pursuit of the soon-to-be-fallen Favre. "I don't know if it was a bad snap or what. I was run-blocking. I didn't know it was a pass."

What the heck is Stonedinvestor talking about. I read some of his posts and forget what thread I'm in. lol.
Anywho, back to the topic at hand here.... I think everything comes down to Tua's health. If Tua is fine before the draft then you will see teams for sure moving up in the draft to get QBs. If he's not, then that changes the dynamic of things. Teams will get a better sense at which teams love certain players. Just like the Giants knew that the Redskins wanted Daniel Jones. They were able to sit at 6 and draft him because they knew the Redskins couldn't move up in front of them. If the Chargers love Herbert they may be able to sit at 6 and draft him there too.
Stafford's contract is locked in for several more years. I can't imagine they'd get rid of him. Lots of lost money on a trade. If Tua's healthy then Miami is trading to #2 with Washington. It's bound to happen. Chase Young goes to the Lions at #3 then the Giants draft at #4 unless a trade with the Chargers occurs.
If the Lions do trade Stafford to the Lions, then it would make Miami desperate enough to trade UP to #2 to get Tua. The Lions would then HAVE to draft a QB because I don't know if any QB would want to go to Detroit as a Free Agent.
"Daniel Jones looks like the actor they'd cast to play Eli Manning in a movie about Peyton Manning's life."
daytripper: NFT= non football topic? i didnt know that. im old and trying to keep up lol
