Look at that list of pass rushers the Giants have to face this season. Its pretty much Murderers Row before the bye week. Do people still think the Giants should of gone with Isiah Simmons at #4 over Andrew Thomas?
I was all in on Thomas back in November or December so I really like the pick,
But you can't select a high draft pick on your opponents in the ensuing season. You're selecting a draft pick based on your team's needs, philosophy and at least a 4-5 year window/plan.
That's what the Giants did. They basically put it out there that the O-Line needed a revamp and they were going to take the best tackle that was there. Plus getting a young tackle to go along with a young potential "franchise" QB makes more sense then anything else. It was also the most logical thing the Giants had to do. You get a young QB then you better be able to protect that young QB going forward.
"Daniel Jones looks like the actor they'd cast to play Eli Manning in a movie about Peyton Manning's life."
The more you read on Thomas the more you like him. Before the offseason and all the media garbage Thomas was the top tackle. Wirfs actually was thought to be a guard and RT at best. Wills RT developes into a LT. Then Becton cane out of nowhere because of his size and how fast he ran. Teams ran back to the tape. This stuff happens every year. The combine etc always sky rocketed some players and teams make the mistake of putting that over all the hard work and tape scouts and front office people put in building there boards.

rodney27: You're right about the fumbling problem, tl65taog. I just don't think it can be fixed. He had in preseason, has it at a record pace now, and had the same problem at Duke. If he hasn't fixed it in all that time...I just don't know if he can.
