So far, this is a very good draft for Gettleman, even the haters can't deny it (although some will). Clearly sticking to their value board with no head-scratchers or reaches. This is the anti-Reese draft, and gives us much to look forward to, along with much-needed coaching changes. We can finally anticipate, instead of dread, games every week. Of course, we could not fill every hole, but there is nothing to complain about or start up new "Fire Gettleman" posts. Call him old and out of touch if you must, but this guy can draft.
This defense had all first-year and second-year players last year. Maybe Boettcher was no good or maybe he was scapegoated. The core consisted of jackrabbit and Alex, no continuity Dooms more than just offensive lines. You added Williams, Martinez,Frackwell, Bradbury, Xaviar, Darnay, and everything has alchemized 2 gold. Before today I felt did the whole defense was Hostage to Baker and how he performed. Not only is that not true now, but I think Da Judge is going to make him compete like hell just to start and we will see the best of Baker or we won't see Baker. I see Xavier doing all the things Amani toomer so passionately wished for from Simmons. This draft ties in exquisitely with the free agent acquisitions and all makes sense now - as pre-shaped pieces find niches. I dislike the naivete that overtakes me every year at this time. But I think this team comes out of this draft as legitimate contenders, even in an Eastern Division that seemingly has gotten much stronger across the board.

rodney27: You're right about the fumbling problem, tl65taog. I just don't think it can be fixed. He had in preseason, has it at a record pace now, and had the same problem at Duke. If he hasn't fixed it in all that time...I just don't know if he can.
